Erica's Craft Room- Technique!!!
Today over at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com we were given a challenge, to use flowers but not in a vase. I knew instantly what I wanted to make as I have become obsessed with Flowers and using my CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge. This is also a Home Decor Project and I'm sure most of you will love it.
I cut my flowers at 3.50 (about 200 of them) and sprayed them with Pearl Glimmer Mist. Once they were dried I rolled them with a quilling tool and hot glued it together. When I was ready to place the flowers around my wreath (I used a 14" wreath from Hobby Lobby in the craft department) I pulled out my pearl head pins I bought from Walmart (100 for 3.00) and stuck them directly through the middle of the flower onto the wreath. Now normally I do wrap my wreaths in ribbon but since I'm pretty good at hiding the white and I use so many flowers I didn't see the need to. You could paint your base first or wrap it in ribbon that's up to you.
After I was done with my wreath it was beautiful but it was missing something. I knew I wanted to add butterflies and I've become very fond of my Art Philosophy cartridge so I used the butterfly on it. I cut the large butterfly at 3.00 and the two smaller butterflies at 2.00. I did use glitter paper and had to adjust my speed to 3 when cutting the smaller ones on my AE2 machine. I did hot glue the butterflies to the roses and I only put hot glue on top layer in the middle middle/body part of the butterfly so the wings would like kind of 3D.
To purchase some of the goodies I used on today's project like glimmer mist and paper please visit Erica's store at http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com/
