Christmas Cards Blog Hop December 3-4

I am so excited today because I am a part of the Christmas Cards Blog Hop over at Creations with Becka. We have an exciting line up of ladies who have all created Christmas cards to give you ideas of homemade cards you can all make to send to your friends and family this holiday season. WOW, can you believe it is December already? This year seems to have flown by.  Christmas will be here in 4 weeks, crazy right! I still have so much to do, buy gifts, decorate the house, hang lights and then the baking. But at least I am ahead on one thing, Christmas Cards…and hopefully after finishing the blog hop we have inspired you and have given you ideas on your Christmas cards you want to make for you family and friends this year.

I always get Christmas cards in the mail up until Christmas and even some after Christmas from the late senders, but most of the cards I receive are store bought, none of them have the special feeling when you open them like “WOW someone really put a lot of time and effort into this” and that is why I like to make my own cards.  I think it just adds that WOW factor and gives the person you are sending it to the feeling of you really care and you took the time to make the cards.

 The card I made for this hop was just a quick card I whipped up for a friend using some embossing powder and my Stampin Up stamps. The paper is from Joann's the red paper is actually craft velvet? I dunno, I found it in the paper area and had to have it. I did use some rhinestones to jazz up my card. I didn't want to go over board on this card. I like how it came out.

Cream shimmer paper also from Joann's
Comfort and Joy Stampin Up Stamp Set. 
Versamark Emobssing Pad

and for today's project I made a layout of my daughter playing in the snow the day after our big blizzard last year. They had a ton of fun sledding down the hill in front of our house and trying to build a snow man. Love the memories....

 

 

 

 

To make this layout I used 3 different cricut cartridges I used Christmas, Joys of the Season and Winter Woodland. I added some bling to my Snow Day sign and also hid the cuts because I was having an issue with it not cutting right. Also, I used my white gel pen to give my deer some spots like bambi. I used bling for my animals eyes too. The paper used for the back ground and Snow Day is from DCWV Winter Magic stack. The deer and squirrel were glimmer paper from HL and my bunnies were white shimmer bazzil paper but I printed out the colors I wanted to use with my Imagine machine.

Here is my project... 

 

The carts I used to make this layout are George and Basic Shapes, Joys of the Season and Christmas. I did ink the edges of my poinsettia with dark green ink I bought in the dollar section at Joann's. The background paper is also from Joann's and the glitter paper is all from Hobby Lobby. The jewels used to decorate my wreaths are Jolee's holly stickers. I believe I cut Christmas at 2" and my Wreaths are at 4". I'm not exactly sure as I didn't write my measurements down when I cut it from my Gypsy.

Christmas Gifts Blog Hop November 26 Day 1

 Ok so today is going to be a fun day of great ideas for homemade Christmas gifts for the special people in your lives, like family, friends, co-workers and teachers.   We thought it would be a great idea since times are rough to showcase all the different presents you can made at home and for little money. Plus, I think homemade presents are the best, because they really show how much you care and how much thought and effort you put into them.

What I did for my project today is I made a Christmas Charger. Which can be used as a house decoration on a table or in your kitchen. I plan on giving this to my mom with a box of homemade fudge! If you also have the time you can make a set of 4, 6, or 8 give these as gifts for someone who can display them on their dining room table during Christmas dinner.

 The cricut cartridge used for this project was Christmas. The font I used my MTC (Make the Cut) and I believe I used Curlz. the vinyl is brushed gold for the deer, silver for the letters and green for the tree. I used my hot fix rhinestones to add some bling to my plate. The letters and Deer are cut at I believe 2" and the tree was 8.07 on the Gypsy.

Fall Decorations November 19th-20th Blog Hop

Good morning everyone.

I love fall! It is my favorite time of year, the leaves are changing colors, the weather becomes cooler, the kids go back to school and it is the time of year when you get to spend one whole day with the most important people in your life and to give thanks. What could be better than that? Today we have a great line up of 6 ladies who have made super awesome fall decorations to share with you. Hopefully you will find some inspiration to make some fall decorations for your home too. Below is a inlinkz button and you can play along too, besides the grand prize giveaway Becka is also giving away a great set of K.Andrew Stamps that you can win if you add a picture of your favorite fall decoration project.

For today's project I created a Thanksgiving wreath. I didn't have one and instead of buying one I made mine. It took a lot of work and patience to make this but I loved the way it turned out.

To make this wreath you will need Distress ink I used foam wreath from Hobby Lobby, Satin Ribbon from Hobby Lobby,Tim Holtz Vingtage Photo, glue, mcgill stylus, glitter paper, fishing wire, mousepad, Cricut Wild Cards,Cricut Walk in my garden Cartridge and whatever color paper you choose. Also, PATIENCE AND TIME! :)

Here is a run down of how I made my wreath, First I wrapped my wreath in ribbon. I prefer the 5/8" because it wraps really nice and tight. I then cut out my sunflower in Walk in my Garden. The flower has a stem so I turned it in my Gypsy so that the stem would overlap on the mat and not cut. I believe I got my flowers at 3" 2 3/4 and 2 1/2. Next I inked them up once that was done i used my stylus and curled the edges of my flower. Glued them all together and here comes the tedious part. For the center of my flower I used a flower on Accent Essentials and I believe it was at .45 on my gypsy. Its a very small flower. I used my stylus to curl them and then took tacky glue (I had a small scratch piece of paper to dip the flower in) dipped them in the glue and arranged them in a circle in the middle. Once my flowers were done I worked on the phrase Happy Thanksgiving which is from Cricut Wild Cards I cut this phrase out at 5 1/4 with REAL SIZE ON. I used chipboard on the back on my glitter paper so it wasn't flimsy. Then I took fishing wire and positioned my phrase where I wanted it thread it through and tied it around my wreath. I assembled my flowers next and viola its done. WOW so sorry for the long description. It took me 2 days to finish this project and I couldn't be happier with the results. I love it and hope you like it as well!

For today's hop I created a charger using the cricut cartridge Sophisticated by Teresa Collins for the phrase "Family is Everything". The leaves are from Cricut Designer Calendar. I used orange, red, and a burnt umber for my vinyl leaves and brown vinyl for the phrase in the middle of the plate.
