25 Days in December-Trees

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
25 Days of Christmas,
with 25 Cricut projects a day.
Don't forget to stop by Erica's blog to see 24 more projects today....
and every day in December.
Here is my project....
To make this you will need the following cricut cartridges:Christmas (noel), Winter Woodland and Winter Lace. The font is cut at 1.88, the tree is cut at 4.92 and the Snowflake is cut at 1.79. I purchased all my vinyl from Ohmycrafts.com. The green vinyl has a flake in it not sure what the name is, the silver is called silver brushed vinyl and the snowflake is glossy white. I would suggest cutting everything out on paper and making a template so that when your ready to lay your vinyl you will make it straight and not crooked. I learned my lesson with another charger. I purchased my chargers at Walmart they were. .98 cents.

Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days in Christmas- Ornaments

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
25 Days of Christmas,
with 25 Cricut projects a day.
Don't forget to stop by Erica's blog to see 24 more projects today....
and every day in December.

 Here is my project....

I used my gypsy so here are the sizes 0.92, 1.17, and 1.32. The foil looking paper for the ornaments can be purchased at Hobby Lobby for 1.99 (I usually wait til its 50% off). The background paper was from a christmas stack at Hobby Lobby also. The red paper inside the card is from Joann's. To make this card take an 8.5x11 piece of cardstock fold it half. I then took another piece of paper and cut about 1/4 of an inch off the sides. I glued it down and started on my ornaments and piecing them together to make them look like they were hanging at different lengths. I was going to use rhinestones but decided on the green ribbon and a red bow. The Bows I bought at Menards 6 for 1.00. I took some twine which is a Teresa Collins Christmas trim and added it to the side of my card. I put a rhinestone in the middle of the bow too. The inside is stamped with a stamp from Close To  My Heart and its from Christmas Love.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays!!!

So today we thought it would be fun to showcase Christmas Decorations for the Holiday season. There is a great line up of wonderfully talented ladies who all more awesome decorations to share with you.
I love this time of year…Christmas  the time we put up our trees, hang lights and of course decoration our homes.  The smells of cookies and pine tree, and just the general joy of the whole holiday season. We all have so many Cricut cartridges that we can easily make our own decorations than spending money to buy them.  So this weekend we will share with all of you some of the decorations we made and we hope that we have inspired you to dust off those cartridges and make some of your own decorations.

For today's project I made this Christmas wreath!

Here is a quick run down on what you will need to make this wreath and how to make it. I took some pictures of the process sorry I didn't do it through the whole project I was sick and I swear my brain was only working 50% off the time LOL.

above is a picture of everything i used minus the red paper which is at Joanns by the Paper company. The red is called Ruby Red Jewel Metallic 8.5x11 and the White is called Arctic Snow Cool Metallic 8.5x11. The leaves I used the DCWV shimmer stack the dark green leaves are on the red paper and the lime green is on the white paper. I did also use a cuttlebug folder called Swiss Dots (forgot to take a picture). Also, the silver glitter paper is from the paper studio and I purchased that at Hobby Lobby. Oh my goodness almost forgot, I bought my wreath in the craft section at Hobby Lobby and I bought silver glitter ribbon at Joann's in the Christmas section. I bought 4 rolls and to wrap my wreath. The cartridge I used to make these flowers are on Joys Of the Season Cricut (layers feature). The leaves are from Mothers Day Bouquet cricut cartridge.

Ok, first things first. wrap your wreath with the ribbon. when its finished it should look like the picture below.
now comes the long process of making flowers, you will need 8 sheets of red and 8 sheets of white paper to make this wreath. You will make 12 flowers total. The size I made for my flowers at 2- 4", 1-3" and 1-2". I used my gypsy so I think its 4.08,3.08 and 2.08. After you have have cut out the red put those aside, with the white flowers you want to distress them first with Tim Holz vintage linen and then curl them with your stylus. I have the one by McGill and I used the largest tip. So once you are done distressing they should look like this...

after you have distressed all your flowers you now want to add diamond dust (which can be found at Hobby Lobby). I used glossy accents but you can use any clear glue you wish. I went around the edges with glossy accents and dusted the flowers off with diamond dust. It is very  messed so I'll warn you now. I loved it though. Next you will put those aside to dry and work on your red flowers. I used glossy accents and Martha Stewart garnet glitter. Its a very fine glitter and I love how bold it is after it dries. (Before you add glitter and glue curl your petals first, its hard to curl them after you have done this step). Below is a picture of what your flower will look like with diamond dust added after you distress the flower, i love the gold/beige color around it.

so while your flowers are drying now is the perfect time to make the leaves for your flowers. I cut the leaf from Mother's Day Bouquet 2 different sizes 1.60 and 1.80.  I used two different colored leaves from the DCWV shimmer stack, the dark green and light green. After they were cut out I inked the edges with Stampin Up Garden green for the darker paper and Lucky Limeade for the light paper. The reason I did that is because the edges were white. After I inked them up I ran them through my bigshot using the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots. After that i glued them to my flowers with some adhesive let them dry for a few minutes.

After they all dried take the smallest flower and add rhinestones to the middle. I used Tulip clear rhinestones to my white distressed and a yellowish color to the red by Jolee they are swarovki elements (you can find these at Michaels).

Now your ready to assemble your flowers, all I did was offset the petals and once I liked the look I glued them together using Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.

Now before you put your flowers on your wreath your going to want to add your sentiment to the middle of your wreath. I used fishing wire to hang mine. I cut out my SVG at 10" (should of made it a little smaller). I cut it out of chipboard (found at Joann's) and silver glitter paper (found at Hobby Lobby).

After you have your sentiment in place now its time to add the flowers to the wreath. You want to use a low temp hot glue gun because your wreath is foam based and it will probably be too hot use a Hot temp glue gun and melt the foam.  I did pick up some wreath decorations at Hobby Lobby on sale for 50 cents and I bought 5. I wanted to add pinecones to my wreath and I thought they were just small enough and would look perfect. its optional you don't have to add them.

sorry for the long long long long post but I hope I wanted to give you a good enough recipe so you can make your own. If you have any questions about what I used or I left something out please let me know!

My blog candy is a 10.00 gift card to Michaels!!!! All you have to do is comment on this post below! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you liked my wreath!

Christmas Cards Blog Hop December 3-4

Good morning ladies,
I am so excited today because I am a part of the Christmas Cards Blog Hop over at Creations with Becka. We have an exciting line up of ladies who have all created Christmas cards to give you ideas of homemade cards you can all make to send to your friends and family this holiday season. So to start off, if you came from Tracy than you are in the right place. If you just stopped by to say Hi, please start from the beginning of the hop over at Creations with Becka. Make sure you go through the whole hop and comment on each blog so you are eligible for the grand prize blog candy Becka is giving away.

WOW, can you believe it is December already? This year seems to have flown by.  Christmas will be here in 4 weeks, crazy right! I still have so much to do, buy gifts, decorate the house, hang lights and then the baking. But at least I am ahead on one thing, Christmas Cards…and hopefully after finishing the blog hop we have inspired you and have given you ideas on your Christmas cards you want to make for you family and friends this year.
I always get Christmas cards in the mail up until Christmas and even some after Christmas from the late senders, but most of the cards I receive are store bought, none of them have the special feeling when you open them like “WOW someone really put a lot of time and effort into this” and that is why I like to make my own cards.  I think it just adds that WOW factor and gives the person you are sending it to the feeling of you really care and you took the time to make the cards.

The card I made for this hop was just a quick card I whipped up for a friend using some embossing powder and my Stampin Up stamps. The paper is from Joann's the red paper is actually craft velvet? I dunno, I found it in the paper area and had to have it. I did use some rhinestones to jazz up my card. I didn't want to go over board on this card. I like how it came out.

To make this card you will need:
Gold Embossing Powder
Hot Fix Rhinestones
Velvet paper from Joann's in Red
Cream shimmer paper also from Joann's
Comfort and Joy Stampin Up Stamp Set.
Versamark Emobssing Pad

My blog candy for this hop is a Teresa Collins 6x6 Christmas paper stack and some ribbon! All you have to do to win is become a follower of my blog and leave me comment on this post. :)

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, your next stop is Becky Woodall.   Don’t forget to leave a comment on every post to be eligible for the grand prize blog candy.

25 Days in December-Snow Play

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
25 Days of Christmas,
with 25 Cricut projects a day.
Don't forget to stop by Erica's blog to see 24 more projects today....
and every day in December.

and for today's project I made a layout of my daughter playing in the snow the day after our big blizzard last year. They had a ton of fun sledding down the hill in front of our house and trying to build a snow man. Love the memories....

To make this layout I used 3 different cricut cartridges I used Christmas, Joys of the Season and Winter Woodland. I added some bling to my Snow Day sign and also hid the cuts because I was having an issue with it not cutting right. Also, I used my white gel pen to give my deer some spots like bambi. I used bling for my animals eyes too. The paper used for the back ground and Snow Day is from DCWV Winter Magic stack. The deer and squirrel were glimmer paper from HL and my bunnies were white shimmer bazzil paper but I printed out the colors I wanted to use with my Imagine machine.

Thanks for stopping by today.

25 Days in Christmas- Christmas Theme

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
25 Days of Christmas,
with 25 Cricut projects a day.
Don't forget to stop by Erica's blog to see 24 more projects today....
and every day in December.

Here is my project...

The carts I used to make this layout are George and Basic Shapes, Joys of the Season and Christmas. I did ink the edges of my poinsettia with dark green ink I bought in the dollar section at Joann's. The background paper is also from Joann's and the glitter paper is all from Hobby Lobby. The jewels used to decorate my wreaths are Jolee's holly stickers. I believe I cut Christmas at 2" and my Wreaths are at 4". I'm not exactly sure as I didn't write my measurements down when I cut it from my Gypsy.

Thanks coming stopping by!
